Right at the flat top of the drill, there is a speed change lever. This lever allows you to switch between two speed settings: low (1) and high (2). The low setting is ideal for driving screws and drilling into soft materials when you need more precision and torque, while the high setting is better suited for drilling.
A series of numbers is printed around the clutch ring, which is located just behind the chuck (where you put the drill bits and the screws). These numbers represent the torque settings of the drill. The higher the number, the more torque is applied, which is useful for driving larger screws or drilling into harder materials. Lower numbers are better for delicate tasks to avoid stripping screws or damaging materials.
Once the limit is reached, the drill will make a clicking sound, indicating that it has reached its maximum torque for that setting. This feature helps prevent overdriving screws and damaging the material.
Always start in the lowest gear, and as you need to drive the screw deeper or drill into harder materials, you can increase the torque setting by turning the clutch ring to a higher number.
